Dear all,
We thank you for all your support thus far, and I am writing to inform you that unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the Aged Care & Wellness Conference & Exhibition 2023.
We take great care to curate an event experience that is truly worthy of our attendees’ time – however, in this case, having considered all factors carefully, the event’s logistics currently are not in our favour.
As such, we have chosen to postpone the conference with a resolute commitment to return even stronger and more impactful in the future. The decision to postpone is not made lightly, but rather with the intention to ensure that the event aligns with its intended goals and maintains the high standards that we have set for ourselves.
We appreciate your support for this event, and we understand that you may have questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact us with any other queries you may have, and we will be happy to assist you.
Warm regards,
UOA Academy
The ageing demographic is a global phenomenon that has significant implications for societies worldwide. In the past, growing older is often associated with negative connotations. However, better living standards and healthcare services nowadays have resulted in people living longer, healthier, and having more vibrant and purposeful lives than ever before.
In Malaysia, the ageing phenomenon has resulted in an exponential increase in the number of elderly individuals (as illustrated by the graph below). By 2056, it is expected that 20% of the Malaysian population will be 65 years old and above.

The statistics paint a clear picture of the urgency and importance of addressing aged care concerns. With the growing number of older adults in Malaysia, it has become increasingly crucial to foster a positive perception of ageing within society. By challenging stereotypes and promoting active ageing, we can encourage older individuals to remain engaged, productive, and socially connected. Recognizing the wealth of knowledge, experience, and wisdom that older adults possess can lead to a more inclusive and harmonious society.
The NXGN Aged Care & Wellness Conference & Exhibition 2023 is a premier event in bringing together experts, practitioners, and thought leaders from the aged care and wellness sectors. It aims to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and explore innovative solutions to address the challenges and opportunities in aged care and wellness in Malaysia.
In Malaysia, Perak has the highest ageing population as of 2020 with 8.9%, followed by Kedah, Perlis (7.9%) and Sarawak (7.5%).
