UOA Academy and Komune Care signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance the development of Elderly Care Centre Operations and Management.

Thursday, 12 April 2023 – UOA Academy and Komune Care signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance the development of highly skilled students in the area of Elderly Care Centre Operations and Management.

The MoU outlines the terms of collaboration between the two organizations, including the sharing of resources, joint initiatives, and other forms of cooperation. The signing ceremony took place at Komune Care, located within Komune Living and Wellness, Cheras, Southeast Asia’s Largest Co-living & Wellness Hub in the Park. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Aqmal Fikri, Head of UOA Academy, Mr. Haikal Akmar, Chief Human Resources Officer at UOA Group, Mr. Fong Muntoh, General Manager at Komune Care, and Mr. Leroy Chiam, General Manager, Residence Care at Komune Care, who expressed their excitement about the new partnership and the potential benefits it will bring.

With the MOU in place, Komune Care will become the official training center and partner for UOA Academy’s upcoming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program, the Diploma in Elderly Care Centre Operation, under National Dual Training System (SLDN), which will see its first batch of students enrol in September 2023.

TVET is a process of education and training that aims to prepare individuals for employment with a focus on industrial practice. Its goal is to produce competent workers in specific fields. The scope of TVET is based on recognized job standards, with an emphasis on practical components and exposure to industry training.

The signing of the MOU between UOA Academy and Komune Care represents a significant milestone for both organizations, highlighting their commitment to collaboration and partnership towards developing highly skilled talents in Malaysia through Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET), via its upcoming Diploma in Elderly Care Centre Operation program. It is expected to lead to a range of exciting initiatives and joint projects that will benefit both organizations and the wider community.
