Programme Overview

Upon the Government’s initiative to enhance youth employability in Malaysia, Khazanah Nasional Berhad has joined hands in organising the K-Youth Development Programme (“K-Youth”) 2024. With that, UOA Academy have analysed, designed and prepared our Programme that is specifically customised to be delivered for Industry Option (1) Hospitality & Services.

Programme Outline

Professional Certificate in Hospitality Services Programme designed to enable the creation of talent pool within UOA Academy eco-system. This programme is an intensive training programme designed to equip talent with the right skills and knowledge for their transition into the hospitality services industry. It is managed by UOA Academy in collaboration with its employment partners.

Entry Requirements

Completion of SPM / SPMV or equivalent
Unemployed for more than 1 month
Malaysian citizen
Have not participated in any similar programme
Entry age – Above 16 Years & Must be below 30 years old

Programme Duration & Format

Target Industry: Hospitality Services
6 Months
1 Month Training @ UOA Academy 5 Months on the Job Training @ Industry Partners
RM1,800 monthly apprentice allowance is given to the students

Programme Modules

1. Professional Certificate in Hospitality Services

2. Personal Development – 4 Hrs (Soft Skills)

3. English for Effective Communication – 12 Hrs (Soft Skills)

4. Basic Accounting – 8 Hrs (Technical Skills) + revenue

5. Food Hygiene & Safety – 8 Hrs (Soft Skills)

6. Principles of Front Office – 32 Hrs (Technical Skills) + reservation

7. Principles of Kitchen Operations – 32 Hrs (Technical Skills)

8. Principles of Restaurant Operations – 32 Hrs (Technical Skills)

9. Principles of Housekeeping – 32 Hrs (Technical Skills)

Total: 160 Hours / 1 Month Theory Duration + 5 Months OJT
