Basic Rigging

Objectives

The Basic Rigging course is designed to provide participants with fundamental knowledge and skills essential for safe and efficient rigging operations. The course aims to ensure that participants understand the principles of rigging, proper equipment usage, and safety protocols, enabling them to contribute to a secure working environment in industries that involve lifting and moving heavy loads. 

Target Audience

This course is specifically designed for all the executive, middle management and senior managers that are involved in constructions and projects. The target audience includes those who are new to rigging operations or those seeking to refresh and enhance their basic rigging knowledge to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

  • Enhance communication skills specific to rigging operations, covering hand signals and verbal communication, enabling safe coordination of lifts.
  • Acquire the ability to calculate loads and identify the center of gravity for different loads, ensuring precision in lifting and movement procedures.

Day 1:

Module 1: Introduction to Rigging Principles

  • Understanding the fundamental principles of rigging operations
  • Overview of the role of rigging in ensuring safe and efficient lifting and movement of heavy loads

Module 2: Rigging Equipment Usage and Selection

  • Proficiency in the proper selection, inspection, and utilization of rigging equipment
  • Detailed exploration of slings, hoists, and hardware used in rigging operations

Module 3: Safety Protocols in Rigging

  • Implementing safety protocols and best practices in rigging operations
  • Ensuring a secure working environment during the lifting and movement of heavy loads

Module 4: Communication Skills in Rigging

  • Enhancing communication skills specific to rigging operations
  • Covering hand signals and verbal communication techniques for safe coordination of lifts

Day 2:

Module 5: Load Calculation and Center of Gravity

  • Acquiring the ability to calculate loads and identify the center of gravity for different loads
  • Ensuring precision in lifting and movement procedures through load calculation techniques

Module 6: Industry Regulations and Standards

  • Gaining familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Ensuring preparedness for compliance and proactive risk mitigation in rigging operations

Module 7: Environmental Impact and Sustainability

  • Assessing the environmental impact of rigging activities
  • Strategies for promoting sustainability in rigging operations

Cancellation & Transfer

Please note that should this registration be cancelled fourteen (14) days before the day of the training, a 50% cancellation charge will be imposed. If cancellation is made seven (7) days before the training, full payment of the training will be levied. Please note that amendments can only be made to the above arrangement by giving a minimum of three (3) working days’ notice. Additionally, a 30% upfront payment is required via Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) or bank transfer.
